Away for far too long……….

It feels like I have been away for far too long but things have been a little crazy lately:

  • At work: it’s our financial year-end this month, big push to get rid of all stock and balance all books – VERY STRESSFUL
  • At home: busy packing to move into our new house in Hillcrest on the 15th December. Which means i can’t put up my christmas tree until a week before Christmas – VERY SAD
  • Life: to do lists just keep growing
  • Kids: crèche closes for a whole month over Christmas and I hardly have any leave available: so I have managed to organise holiday club for him for 2 weeks but I so wish I could be at home playing with sand and paint with him for a whole month :)
  • Not to mention trying to do Christmas shopping before the shops become manic (oh how I wish I had little elves helping me)

Blogging… no easy task

I have recently started blogging and I love the creativity and freedom of expression I get to exude in my blog. Considering I work as a Personal Assistant you will see why this is a breath of fresh air for me. Well I would just like to state that blogging is more difficult than it seems. You need to be dedicated, plan a head, social and passionate.

I have attached a blog planner I found on pinterest and have started using and find it very helpful.

I would like to call all experience bloggers to comment and add their tips and tricks to having a great blog that they love interacting on.

High cholesterol…. What???

Today I went for my annual Discovery Vitality health check and the only reason I go each year is because I get points towards various discounts through my medical aid.  I mean seriously, I’m 27 years old, what could possibly be wrong with my health. Until the nurse told me that I have high cholesterol…… What??? No, that’s not possible. We never eat take-away food (yeah right) and I try go to gym every now and then.

Well that’s when I realised that I thought we lived a pretty healthy lifestyle but clearly I was wrong. After giving birth to Keegan, I swore I would lose the extra weight gained during pregnancy and get back to my usual 55kgs (I’m very short, so this is a pretty average weight for me). Well over a year later and I’m still 63kgs and oh my is it difficult to lose those 8kgs. It might not sound like much it puts my BMI well over 25 since I’m only 1.55m tall.

So I decided from today: no more excuses!! I’m going to do this. I saw the perfect post on pinterest:

A day at the Animal Farm

Today was Keegan’s first trip to an animal farm and just as I suspected, he loved it!

Thanks to my aunt who bought tickets on Groupon (I love group buying but not good for my bank balance): we had breakfast at Duck ‘n Deck in Assagay.

The weather was a perfect sunny Durban day and Keegan loved all the animals. For a reasonably small 14 month old he sure wasn’t scared of anything. From the horses, chickens, pigs, goats and lama he couldn’t get enough of them.

Needless to say, he was fast asleep before we hit the highway home.

How is it possible….??

We only live about 2 minutes away from Keegan’s creche and somehow he managed to take both his socks off, make a poo and wipe snot all over himself in these 2 mins – hows is it possible?? Only a 14 month old little boy would know :)

How do I explain to his teacher that he was perfectly clean and dressed before I left home? Oh well, I guess they are used to it.
